Select
the selection tool and then put the setting on "ellipse." Holding
shift while making your selection (to keep the circle perfectly round),
select an area the size of your desired button. |
 |
Choose a lighter shade of a color,
and a darker shade of a color (here I used bright red, and dark red). Using
the gradient tool, at a 45 degree angle from the upper left, to the lower
right, fill the circle. |
 |
Now you must select a smaller
circular area within the first circle that you just shaded. You can do
this by holding down the shift button and simply creating a smaller circle,
and then arrange it so that it is properly centered; or, you can go to
select, modify, and contract, and then choose how many pixels you would
like for the circle to be contracted. |
 |
Now using the gradient tool once
again, with the same colors as before, fill the circle from lower right
to upper left. Then select none and you have a great looking 3D button.
You can also add text over your button, but make sure to keep it with in
the smaller circle or it won't look good. |
